PRELUDE:
‘Let’s go on an adventure,’ she whispers in my ear at 3AM; her voice is slurred with sleepiness but I’ve never seen her eyes more alive. She folds her fingers around my wrist and pulls me out of bed before I can say ‘Yes’ but that is my answer, and she knows it. We are ebullient as we climb into my car.

INTERLUDE:
I am behind the wheel and she is in the passenger seat, and, God, I wish I had a camera because that smile is the most beautiful cynosure in the goddamn world and the moon is lighting her up in the most divine way. She’s the Mytikas peak and, let me tell you, there are no gods living on her, they’re living in her. Her hand alights on my knee and I shiver despite the temperature. 

OUTRO:
The engine quickens with my heart and we pull out into the night. The windows are rolled down and the music is blasting and she is singing every song and, believe me, I look at her whenever I can, but mostly I listen. And I think to myself that I am the luckiest girl in the world. I find myself truly loving my existence, once thought of as monotonous, but she has brought color to my life.
